The event will be held on January 10, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The Gulf of Georgia Cannery is a National Historic Site of Canada located in Steveston village in Richmond, British Columbia. Built in 1894, the cannery echoes the days when it was the leading producer of canned salmon in British Columbia. Today it is a museum with interactive exhibits, film, and tours that demonstrate the Cannery's important role in the history of Canada's West Coast fishing industry.
Walk back in time through one of B.C.’s historic treasures. Shafts of light, weathered wood, and industrial pipes create striking scenes for storytelling through your lens.
No restrictions on hand-held Photography. The building is full of dreamy light, artifacts from the days of canning along with coloured steel pipes and other equipment. Photographers may very well end of up with good candidate photos for the January Theme – Objects Tell a Story.
Please sign-up in advance for this outing, as groups of 10 or more people require pre-booking. Send a note to outings@nwphoto.org
We will meet at 10:00 am in front the main entrance to the Museum.
