Comments for this Competition

This month we’re turning everyday objects into storytellers. A single item—a pair of scuffed boots, a broken toy, a chipped teacup—can hold layers of meaning if we let it. The challenge is to use composition, light, and context to suggest a bigger story without specifically spelling it out.
Try arranging your subject object carefully in a still life or capturing it as you find it. Ask yourself: what does this object say about where it’s been, who it belonged to, or what it’s seen? It’s a great way to slow down and think about how ordinary things can evoke emotion.
