Competition Definition

To be used to participate in external competitions as a club.  A panel of judges will be used to select the images to be submitted to the competition.

Scope of Competition
• This is an open theme competition.
• This competition welcomes a variety of subjects such as animals, birds, insects, landscape, nature, people, domesticated animals, and wildlife and can include altered reality images.
• All submitted images must have been captured in the Pacific Zone.
• NB: Images depicting individuals experiencing homelessness, infirmity, or people in crisis will not be accepted. CAPA considers that the exploitation of the misfortune and suffering of others for the sake of photography demonstrates a disregard for the well-being of our fellow individuals.
Participation
• All submitted images must come from photographers who are permanently residing in the Pacific Zone, which includes British Columbia and Yukon Territory.
• Individual CAPA members may submit images as an Individual CAPA Member and/or as a member of a CAPA Club, but the images must be different. Individuals who are not CAPA members are welcome to submit images as part of their CAPA Club’s entry.
• Camera clubs are limited to a maximum of five (5) images each from a different club member.
• This competition will use the Zone Tiered Skill-level model. The levels are Novice, Intermediate and Advanced based on demonstrated achievements.
Accepted Image Types
• Colour images
• Black & White images
• Colour images converted to black & white
• Infrared images which can contain a range of colours beyond black & white
• Triptychs - An image of three (3) separated images contained within a single image, are permitted in this competition.
Techniques Not Permitted
• Images without Photographic Origin
• Frames, Borders, Pin-lines, and Mats
• Artificial Intelligence Renderings
• Watermarks and/or overlays containing the name of the photographer and/or name of the camera club
