Use Your Camera's Settings
Step outside your photographic comfort zone. Turn a few camera dials, explore a few menu settings, and discover what your camera can really do. At our September meeting, we discussed the creative controls on our cameras. Now it's your chance to put them to use. Experiment with shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance, focus modes, exposure compensation, or any of the other settings you've been curious about. There are no wrong answers—only opportunities to learn.

The only rule is that Automatic mode is off-limits! Choose one of your camera's creative modes (Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Manual, or another non-Auto mode) and see where your curiosity takes you.

Photography is as much about exploration as it is about the finished image. Some experiments will work beautifully, others may surprise you in unexpected ways, but every photograph will teach you something new.

Something else to keep in mind is that we will have a North Shore Review in November, so if you want to sneak a few photos in early….

The images will not be scored. This about sharing. Images to view, discuss, and provide constructive comments.

• All images show in the gallery, one image in the finaI slide show. Indicate the image you would like in the final slide show by placing the number "1" in the title.
• after the title use a dash and inidicate the camera method you used. eg. Boats on the river - shutter speed
