This month, we’re taking colour out of the equation and focusing on the natural world in black and white. Without colour, we start to notice different things: the way light falls on a leaf, the texture of tree bark, the shape of a bird’s wings in flight. Experiment with high contrast, moody tones, or soft shades of grey to show off texture and structure. This is also a great time to practice black-and-white conversions—don’t just de-saturate your files but explore how you can tweak tones to bring out depth and detail.
