Kilby Historic Site is a unique BC Heritage site in Harrison Mills. The ground is approximately 5 acres which portrays the living history of a Fraser Valley family (the Kilby family) in the early 1900s. There is a farm stocked with a variety of friendly farm animals, a General Store Museum, a hotel and a post office, all preserved as the way it once was. A fun place to take photos.
If you are particularly interested in landscape photography, the Kilby South Trestle Beach and the Kilby Park are just a short walk away from the historic site. You can also walk along the Harrison River (Kilby North Dyke Trail) towards Harrison Mills Bridge which you can find scenic spots for landscape photos.
We will meet up afterwards at Sasquatch Inn ( a classic pub at 46001 Lougheed Hwy, Harrison Mills) for drinks or lunch; then if you have time and are interested to continue; our president, Glenn Marcus, will lead us to his secret spots at the nearby Elbow Creek to take long exposure photos.
Please note the admission fee for Kilby Historic Site is $12 for seniors and $15 for adults. Further information can be obtained through their website https://kilby.ca/visit/plan-your-visit/
