The event will be held on November 17, 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Intimate Landscape – Finding the Meaningful Frame
Go beyond the grand vistas and take a deeper look. Step into the quiet powerful world of Intimate Landscape Photography. Join two of our members, Greg Juhasz and Glenn Marcus, as they talk about their experience with this sub-genre of landscape photography.
The intimate landscape process starts with a question the photographer asks, and then explores the scene. Big epic landscape photos can be powerful, but there is more to see. The talk will include information on the background of this style of photography, key considerations and a walk through of selected photography that will take the viewer from the grand to the more intimate landscape scene.
A Photographic Challenge
The evening will lead into a practical club project. Members will be challenged to create a series of up to 6 intimate landscape images based on their own photographic exploration. The completed series, which can include a photograph of the full scene, will be presented and discussed at our February 2, 2027 meeting.
So, between November and February, get outside, explore some familiar places in unfamiliar ways, and look beyond the obvious.
The big landscape is only the beginning. The photograph may be hiding in the details.
