The event was held on April 20, 2024 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Terra Nova Rural Park is a 63-acre site located beside the riverfront West Dyke Trail (Richmond), with a close by protected nature area. This nature area is home to more than 80 local and visiting bird species, from eagles, hawks and herons to colourful waterfowl and twittering songbirds. The West Dyke Trail is an easy walk that offers gorgeous views of the Salish Sea.

The Vancouver International Airport is across the river from this former farmland area; if you are interested in metal wings, you will have a good chance to shoot seaplanes flying directly above and big jets landing or taking off from the runway.

We will start this month’s outing a little bit earlier in the morning than usual  [8 AM] to catch a better chance for wildlife sighting.

Meet up location: Parking lot on the left-hand side as you enter Terra Nova Rural Park along River Road (Keep right to stay on River Road with the Dyke alongside)

Transportation

• Driving is recommended.
• Public transit: Canada Line to Richmond-Brighouse Station. Take bus route no. 401 and get off at the intersection of No. 1 Road and Westminster Highway then walk about 1.5 km.
