The Circle GameCompleted Dec 7, 2018

There are circles everywhere, in nature, the sky, water, manufacturing and architecture just to name a few.
Show us what you find interesting and share your circles, whether literal or implied.
There are many ideas on Google but perhaps it's best just to find your own inspiration.
    Get creative and have fun.

  2. Theme
The 12 Days of ChristmasSubmissions due Dec 31, 2018

Have some fun with this one.
It might be hard to find eight maids a milking or ten lords a leaping so let your creative juices flow and see where it takes you.
Mix and match, if you need to make your own: 7 crows a crowing, 5 kids a crying , I could go on.
Although inspired by a Christmas song, it does not need to include any seasonal elements.

    Twelve drummers drumming
    Eleven pipers piping
    Ten lords a-leaping
    Nine ladies dancing
    Eight maids a-milking
    Seven swans a-laying
    Six geese a-laying
    Five gold rings
    Four colly birds
    Three french hens
    Two turtle doves
And a partridge in a pear tree.

  5. Meeting

Tonight we launch into 2019!  (Program TBA)

(NO MEETING on Tues, January 1st - New Year's Day)

    Agenda:

    • Top 10 Themes

We will share the top-10 results for the Themes that have closed since the last December meeting.

    • Non-Digital Creations - Member Show & Tell

With much of photography’s attention being devoted to the sole creation of the image, and more recently the virtual and instant sharing of those images, the art and practice of physically producing prints is becoming less of a requirement than in the past.   But is this a good thing?  How many of us have GBs of images languishing on our hard drives, and nothing more?

Many commentators will tell you that printing your work can help you grow as a photographer.  Printing photographs can ground your work and forces you to take time to be with and work with the image. Sharing your images in a physical form also brings value to your work and are also a more special means for sharing your images with others than viewing them on an LCD screen.

The most usual way to “print” your images is on a flat piece of photo paper for framing and hanging on the wall, or a collection of images in a book.  Printing technology makes this easier and cheaper with each passing day.  That technology also offers us other media on which to print.  A quick scan of various online printers discloses that you can print on almost anything, including:

      • Mugs
      • Calendars
      • T-shirts
      • Pillows & blankets
      • Cases for electronics
      • Placemats
      • Ornaments
      • Tiles
      • Coasters
      • Piggy banks

      Well, you get the idea

At this meeting we are going to have a Show & Tell.  Everyone is encouraged to bring anything you have created with one of your photographs, from a framed print to greeting cards; books of all formats; any novelty item or décor.  Share with everyone how you share your photos.  Hopefully we will all be inspired to take some time to get our photos off the screen and into the world.
