 Most of us have a comfortable way of using our cameras. For many, tha
 t means Aperture Priority; for others, it may be Auto, Program mode, 
 a favourite preset, or simply the settings we know best. This evening
  is about stepping outside that comfort zone.\n
 \n
 In this hands-on workshop, we’ll experiment with some of the co
 ntrols that shape how a photograph looks, including shutter speed, ap
 erture, ISO and metering. Rather than simply talking about them, we&r
 squo;ll try them out and see what happens.\n
 \n
 The aim isn’t to convince everyone to shoot in Manual. It&rsquo
 ;s to become a little more confident about choosing a setting because
  of what we want the photograph to do — whether that means free
 zing movement, showing motion, changing depth of field, or dealing wi
 th difficult light.\n

 What to bring:\n
 \n
 · Whatever camera you normally use, DSLR, mirrorless, fixed-le
 ns, even your point & shoot if you have some control over the setting
 s.\n

 · A tripod\n
 \n
 · Two lenses (we recommend one zoom lens and one prime lens) i
 f that is relevant to your camera\n
 \n
 · A fully charged battery and empty memory card\n
 \n
 Come prepared to experiment, make a few mistakes, and try something y
 ou don’t normally do.\n
