What are NWPC Themes?

How do themes help my photography?

Flora and fauna   (open)
View submissions

This is a broad topic to harmonize with our zoo and bird sanctuary outings on October 11 and November 22, respectively
For for those of you not into "fur and feathers", you may enter any kind of plant life, but try to keep it within the theme of "nature" (ie no "cultivated" plants. We know that can be a challenge, especially if you travel, but generally, nothing from the flower garden).
If you don't attend either outing (or don't get any good shots from either, or got the perfect wildlife shot on your way out of town before either outing started...), you may also enter "wild" bird or "wild" animal shots but no domestic cats or dogs or other pets like goldfish...
Please try to keep within the intention of our themes by capturing your images between the opening and closing date of the theme.

Lines   (open)

Lines are basic compositional elements, but, (bonus!), they are everywhere. This is a summer theme so try to resist digging through the archives for this one. Get out into the nice weather and look for lines. Hint: they don't have to be straight lines but a strong theme will say "lines" to the viewer.
