Announcement: digital slideshow course

Two days: May 29 and June 5

$75 per day, or $125 if you take both

You've seen those digital slideshows that seem to be all the rage these days? They are a fun dynamic way to share your images with family, friends, or even the world on sites like YouTube.

If you would like to learn how to create these shows, join us for this 2 day seminar. Students get a good introduction to one of the most popular slideshow applications: Proshow Gold. For those who already have proshow, but maybe have been a bit disappointed in their results, the course also focuses on "story telling" and how to get the most emotional impact out of your creations.

Day 1: slideshow physiology - learn to use ProShow Gold and make it part of your workflow
Day 2: slideshow psychology - learn to get the most impact from your images and your show

Yes, another club season has come and gone. Tonight we select an executive for another year. Our club runs on its volunteers. We will be looking for officers, chairs and volunteers to handle President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Outings, Program, Editor, Refreshments, Webmaster, Competitions (print and projection) and Themes. Some of these jobs take more time and effort than others, but all are essential to our operations. We always have vacancies, so if you would like to contribute to the club, even in a small way, please raise your hand to nominate yourself or someone you feel might be good in a position. And for those of you who might think this is a boring night and want to skip it, we will arrange some not to be missed entertainment.

Before you go "NO WAY" and run from the room... think about how much fun you could have with this... mirrors, shadows, digital manipulation galore... Or put on a costume and stage yourself in a "movie" scene or .... (Um, some fantasies are best left unpublished, if you get my drift).

You do not have to be recognizable, but you have to be "in" the picture. Somewhere. But more than just in spirit.

(You may get assistance, in the form of someone else pushing the shutter only, but you must "direct" and own the negative.)

This one will take some thought, so don't leave it for the last minute! This is a great opportunity to work with one or more fellow members.

The colour or the trendy help the earth stuff, like a hybrid car or windmill (or any other intepretation you want). Try to make the whole image say "GREEN".
